10 класс, Задание на 11.09 и 12.09

Уважаемые учащиеся 10 классов ниже представлены упражнения по теме "Относительные местоимения". 

I. Put in the relative who, which or whose

1. I talked to the girl,         car had broken down in front of the shop.

2. Mr Richards  is a taxi driver,… lives on the corner.

3. We often visit our aunt in Norwich, … is in East Anglia.

4. This is the girl, … comes from Spain.

5. That's Peter, the boy, …  has just arrived at the airport.

6. Thank you very much for your e-mail, …  was very interesting.

7. The man ,… father is a professor, forgot his umbrella.

8. The children, … shouted in the street, are not from our school.

9. The car driver is a young man, …  is from Ireland.

10. What did you do with the money, … your mother lent you?

II Put in the relative who, which or whose where necessary

1. This is the boy… had an accident.

2. Yesterday I saw a car …was really old.

     3. Mandy is the girl … I met on Friday.

4. I haven't seen Frank, … brother is five, for a long time now.

5. The robber stole the car … the lady parked in front of the supermarket.

6. This is the man … house is on fire.

7. Can I talk to the girl …is sitting on the bench?

8. The book …you gave me is great.

9. She likes hamburgers …are hot.

10. Bill Clinton, … was President of the USA, has only one daughter.

III. Join two sentences using a relative pronoun (Со­еди­ни­те два пред­ло­же­ния, ис­поль­зуя от­но­си­тель­ное ме­сто­име­ние)

Example: I wrote to the friend. He had a birthday last week. – I wrote to the friend who/that had a birthday last week.  

1.     I bought a house. It was nice.

2.     Alice has got a friend. He dances well.

3.     He received the letter. He was waiting for it.

4.     Max has become an actor. You met him last year.  

5.     I was happy to get a letter from my friend. He has been travelling around the world.

6.     This dress costs a lot of money. It has a handmade embroidery.

7.     I forgot to print the article. I wrote it yesterday.

8.     The boy was sad. His bike was broken.

IV. Put the relative adverbs where/why/when (Вставь­те от­но­си­тель­ные на­ре­чия where/why/when)

1.     We will visit the castle........​the kings lived.

2.     Winter is the time of the year..........​many people suffer from flu.

3.     I can’t understand the reason...........​you have been late for work.

4.     Do you know the reason............​she is so upset?

5.     This is the library...........​you can find even rare books.

6.     The school...........I study is near my house.

7.     This is the reason...........I never invite her to the party.

8.     I remember the day............I went to school.
